The innovation in television accessories has had to keep up with the rapid evolution of television sets.

Just think back to 2000. Most homes had the old clunky looking boxes which took two people to move around. Flat screen sets were such a rarity, while today they make up almost everything on sale in electronics and appliance stores.

The experience of watching shows on television is very much a cinematic experience now. The Loctek R2 TV Mount changes the way you’ll watch television, taking it from a time consumer to a full on engaging, cinematic experience.

It is able to hold a curved or flat screen TV, so you can place it at whatever height is the most comfortable for your viewing experience, with the ability to tilt it between 2-10 degrees. There is no risk of it falling off, as the safety lock can hold a set as heavy as 99 pounds.

The R2 Mount can be installed quite easily and a pleasant feature is that it can be used for television sizes ranging from 32 inches all the way up to 70 inches.

I was recently at the house of a friend who had brought an apartment. He told me that before he bought the Loctek Mount R2, his TV was sitting on the floor, the viewing very unpleasant. Now he is watching all his favourite shows on a customisable range. “The best thing is I can watch TV standing up, on the couch or lying down” he tells me.

Another comforting feature I liked is the fact that cables weren’t sticking out everywhere, with the whole set up looking quite slick.

As it is with most things, the set up and installation is the most stressful part seems to be the most stressful thing. But once you’ve got that out the way, the experience is fantastic. My mate pulled out a season of The X Files and with his home theatre system and suddenly you feel as if you’re in a full on movie theatre.

So I’m giving this product the thumbs up. It’s well designed, innovative and meets the needs TV watchers have but can’t always remember.
