• What is the meaning/origin of Christmas?

  Bingo! Louise. Most areas of Europe, pre Christian engaed in Seasonal based festivals. The biggest being around the time of the Winter Solstice (around 24Dec.) and the Spring equinox. Both trumpeting good times ahead in terms of weather for crops. As Christianity spread they needed a method to take away from this practice. This they largely achieved by celebrating the birth (xmas) and Easter (death) of their saviour.
  Don't believe me? What is the name 'Easter' and why do the dates change?
  Thank goodness, in both, original practices remain. This comes as a shock to alot of people to realise they have been duped by early Christians.

  Having been a lover of fine whiskey and really only drink it neat/on the rocks or sometimes with coke I have discovered mixes especially 'Mule.' Always use a high quality whisky like Makers Mark.
