This by far is one of the greatest remixes to Come Alive by Netsky (unfortunately I can't take credit for it). Big fan of Netsky; few of us mates often play around with his beats on the table when we're bored on the weekends. Dude always gives a helluva good buzz every time. Let me know what you guys think of this mix. It would be a privilege to attend RnV, my mates go every year but I've never been before. This year I'd like to join them!!!

  • Christmas.... Oh not-so-holy night!

Last post: Rangatira on 12.12.13 at 12:04 | Started by Rangatira on 12.12.13

Truth is. Not everyone will have a great christmas. Not everyone will have a large ham to go w/ the hangi or pasta salad. It dawned on me the other day when I stood behind a woman at checkout. She was trying to purchase her groceries which I sneakily looked at the total sum: $129.00. When I saw the products she bought, they weren't luxury goods. Everything was home-brand minus a few items (meat, veges). she only had $100 on her, so she began placing some items back. At that point it hit me, this lady is struggling to feed her family while I'm standing behind her about to buy a bottle of Matua wine. Christmas was just around the corner; if she couldn't afford this weeks groceries how could she afford xmas? (We all know the price of xmas, it doesn't come cheap... Especially when the extended family spontaneously 'pop in for a visit.' I went to the other counter, got the cashier to give $30 to the cashier that served the woman and left without saying who I was. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it; I'm sure she wouldn't want to either so I didn't say a thing. Motto of the story, when you can see one struggling to feed others, especially during a time like christmas, don't just sit back and watch. HELP! Otherwise, what's the point of celebrating christmas? Remember why we celebrate it in the first place. More about Christmas.... Oh not-so-holy night!

  • Win one of three Maker's Mark bottles

here's the thing. I love whiskey. More importantly, my family loves whisky. Not sure how it started but ever since I can remember, we've always been a whisky fan. We don't get plonked drinking it; but for special occasions like someones birthday or xmas we usually have a few glasses to celebrate. I've never tried Makers Mark before; and not to say I'm an expert on whisky but it would be a lovely gift to go with this xmas feast. More about Win one of three Maker's Mark bottles

  • Is alcohol too popular in NZ today?

Last post: Rangatira on 12.12.13 at 11:29 | Started by Rangatira on 12.12.13

Many many many many many many many many New Zealanders drink. Alcohol to be more specific. When I had my first taste of alcohol I thought it was rotten coke. Seriously, I thought it was. I argued w/ my peers, how do you rot coke? Not knowing what it really was. The more I tried it the worse it got, so I moved to beer. Seemed a little better than woodies. years later I became immune to the taste; but seeing others (even younger) drink excessively put me off drinking. So now I only drink occasionally. But too often are NZ'ers drinking far beyond their capacity. Is this a problem? If so, what's the solution? More about Is alcohol too popular in NZ today?

  • Win with Bacardi

    Dear Frank,

If I were to win this prize I would share it with my family this Christmas (Yes we are all adults now). Why you say? Because our family barely see each other as we're all over the country and Christmas is the only time of the year we're all under one roof. All members of my family enjoy a good Barcadi will go down well with mum's ham. I'm not one to overdose on the alcohol but I do enjoy the taste of decent alcohol. More about Win with Bacardi

I grew up on a farm in the Hawkes Bay. There are horses everywhere, some tamed; others have been broken. I've never attended a horse race live before, so this would be a great opportunity to see a variety of athletic horses at their best.

"There is a sociology of horses, as well as a psychology. It is most evident in the world of horse racing, where many horses are gathered together, where year after year, decade after decade, they do the same, rather simple thing - run in races and try to win." - J. Smiley

Which house would you guys choose to be in? I'm biased, but I'd love to be in Ravenclaw. Although in the films and books, it doesn't tell us much about the history of the 4 founders. What we know about Rowena Ravenclaw, she was an incredible witch. Most characters from Ravenclaw house are all strange, intelligent, graceful and unique.
