  • Is alcohol too popular in NZ today?

Last post: WryRhie on 18.12.13 at 15:28 | Started by Rangatira on 12.12.13

The culture around drinking is what creates issues. I have not met many people who have "a drink" but there are heaps who will go on a binge. I don't think that relationship with alcohol is necessarily the best. But it seems to be common. Changing the drinking culture can be done by changing the expectations of how people are supposed to enjoy it. More about Is alcohol too popular in NZ today?

  • Keeping The Weight Off

Last post: WryRhie on 09.12.13 at 22:05 | Started by Anthony on 27.11.13

I had trouble when I was dieting for dieting's sake. I've since found activities that I enjoy doing. Boxing's great when I'm feeling stressed. I love going to the beach and swimming or just jumping into the waves. Cycling is a great way to see different areas.
I've also worked on focusing on what I'm eating. I try to make a conscious decision: is the thing I'm eating actually tasty? I used to eat heaps of really rubbish things because they were convenient. When I sat down and thought about it, the value of the flavour wasn't really worth the cost of the calories. I don't do it all the time, terrible cupcakes that are well decorated always trick me. But more often than not I find myself eating better. More about Keeping The Weight Off

  • Should men moisturise their face daily.

Last post: WryRhie on 09.12.13 at 19:12 | Started by nzbear on 20.11.13

My husband never moisturises. He's older than I am but his skin is in better condition (probably because of the cosmetic shenanigans I get up to). That being said, he doesn't spend all of his days outdoors. When we do have a long day out he usually mentions feeling dryer than usual. So I suppose that if you really enjoy the outdoors for sports or leisure or if you work outside, moisturiser might be a good thing to add to the routine. Most moisturisers have sunblock as well, so you get the protection you need in - double bonus! More about Should men moisturise their face daily.

  • How do you sort your inbox?

Last post: WryRhie on 09.12.13 at 19:06 | Started by JohnGx on 21.07.11

At work I have several folders and filters redirecting emails I get. But in my personal email I let everything just filter in and sit where it landed. On days when I'm feeling particularly adventurous, I'll search my inbox for those notice emails that I get weekly from various sources and archive them like nobody's business. Because, let's face it, if I haven't looked at it in a month then I likely won't look at it ever again. Unless it's important. Those things get stars. More about How do you sort your inbox?
