Sick of the Moaners and Whingers? I am.
There certainly are a few of them out there, although I think many of the comments people have on issues are just a bit of healthy debate. For example it's only natural for people to cry out for Gear if Guildford has a shocker. But while it's fine for people to debate about these things there definitely needs to be a line where people recognise that what's done is done so we might as well get used to it. Henry's the coach, Gear and SBW are in the squad, so forget the fact that Auckland has all the games and get amongst it wherever you are! More about Sick of the Moaners and Whingers? I am.

Is Colin Slade the Back-up 1st Five for Daniel Carter?
Obviously there was a lot of debate over whether Aaron Cruden should've been picked as 1st five backup instead of Slade, and although Weepu's been bandied about as an alternative in recent weeks, the fact remains that while he can do several things quite well he's not a backline general. Sure, Slade is not at the level where he needs to be in terms of directing the game either, but keep in mind he's expected to be managing several guys with greater age and experience than him, and he needs to get this experience before he'll become a truly great 1st five. Honestly, I don't think there was much to pick between Cruden and Slade, but they were definitely the two prime contenders and now Ted's made his choice we need to let the boy have some gametime and let him settle into his role (although hopefully DC will be around for a little longer yet!). Nicholas Jermyn Fathers' Day Giveaway
Would love to get these for my Dad! Over the years I've slowly been making inroads into his love for the plain white shirt and these would be the perfect complement to some of the new ones he's been sporting recently. Love your work, NSJ. More about Nicholas Jermyn Fathers' Day Giveaway

Couldn't agree more in regard to your comment about the blandness of what many New Zealanders have been led to believe is a high-class, flavoursome beer, for example the Heinekens and Steinlagers that frequent every liquor outlet. And such a shame that the former pushed out a real home-grown beauty with Kiwi Lager.
I really feel like the only hope for any type of decent New Zealand beers to succeed in the current climate is with craft brewing, but then again, that's a different topic entirely! More about Top 6: Lost Kiwi Beers -
It's good to read a brief summary of these different types of lagers and especially to understand the wide range that they offer in terms of hoppiness and percentage - I'm more partial to German-style lights such as the Helles style but I think it's essential to keep an open mind in beer-tasting. Very much looking forward to the German wheat review in the next issue! Thoughts on Konig Ludwig Weissbier? More about A Tale of Lagers and Weizen

Comedian Interview: Jeremy Elwood
Good to hear a bit of an insight into a top NZ comedian and his thoughts on some of the perhaps easier yet frowned upon examples of comedy. Jeremy, along with Paul Ego, Ben Hurley and Steve Wrigley show that NZ, as usual for most things, is punching above its weight for comedic value. More about Comedian Interview: Jeremy Elwood
