I have quite simple tastes really when it comes to wine, and I'm not fussy at all.
Basically, to put it in a nutshell, I like any wine that is not too acidic but has an austere aroma, has a berrylike bouqet with good balance, is citrusy, crisp and complex without being too cloudy, well decanted with a delicate depth and not too dry, earthy but elegant, with firm floral flavours and a fresh fruity and full-bodied finish, grapey but not too grassy, not too hearty or hard, preferably jammy, leafy and lively with a lingering length, musty with a nutty nose, oaky and plump but without being ponderous, refined and rich and what I would describe as robust without being too rustic, of course it must have a sharp structure without being tart or underipe, and it's a given that it must not be volatile yet still weighty and well-balanced. Oh, and not too yeasty.
If, by some random chance I can't find a wine that meets that fairly simple criteria, I'm pretty happy just to grab a beer.

I like my beer to be atringent and bitter, earthy, full-bodied and grainy without being too musty. It needs to be toasty yet not too yeasty.
A good malted dark ale or stout usually fits the bill perfectly.

I'm glad the article finally says "enjoy the ride" at the end, because to me that is what fashion and dress sense is all about....
I've gotta say that I didn't understand a lot of the fancy words and analysis in the above article...and no offence intended to the author but I wouldn't mind betting he is a youngster in his 20s. I am in my mid-thirties and as I've aged a bit I have come to realise that what I wear isn't really about being cool or stylish or trying to impress...it's just about wearing what is right for me and my personality...(and what is comfortable ;))....in return, I don't pay anywhere near as much attention to what OTHERS are wearing as I used to when I was younger.
So to me, I don't care if a 40 year old wants to wear a gold chain and track pants with his boxers showing...to others he might be trying to recapture his youth, but to him he may just be being himself and feeling good about it. After all, that's what life is all about..."enjoying the ride"... More about Ageing (Dis)gracefully?
As an executive producer and creator of films, how much creative control do you exert over the final product? Have you ever gotten into a dispute or argument with a screenwriter or director over what should be in the final cuts, or do they tend to readily acknowledge that you are the one holding the purse strings? Watching soccer in South America would be the ultimate place to experience the vibe, passion and atmosphere of the game...(and maybe violence too)...and it is definitley on my list of things to do in my lifetime. More about Buenos Aires: Football Fervor
I think many people have the impression that the Caribbean is all about sunshine, rum and reggae...Jamaica is the first and sometimes only place that springs to mind...but I'm glad the article refers to the full range of Caribbean destinations. Countries like Puerto Rico, Guadalupe and Cuba aren't often thought of as travel destinations....but I know they have a heck of a lot to offer...
My brother is in Cuba right now on a 3 month bicycle tour with his girlfriend. They are basically just exploring the country. Getting there wasn't too hard, and he is really enjoying the experience. Before hearing about his travels in his regular email updates back home to the family, when I thought of Cuba I really only had Castro, Communism and cigars in mind. But it's much more than that. My bro feels completely safe there, there is an amazingly rich culture and much to see and do. He's LOVING it, a once in a lifetime experience.
So if you are thinking of heading to the Caribbean, whether for a relaxing holiday or an adventure, definitely look at all the options....there's so much to be discovered ;) More about Travel Caribbean
