The best advice I have EVER been given is simply this...
"It will be alright in the end; if it's not alright, it's not the end". It might seem a little cheesy and cliche, but I have found it to be 100% true and a good mantra to have when things get a little tough. More about Best advice you've been given

  • Must watch movies for a guy?

Last post: Chad on 07.05.13 at 01:03 | Started by JohnGx on 29.08.12

Stallone knows guys... and the Expendables movies have got to be high on the list. Rocky and Rambo are also good franchises for testosterone and high body counts.
Jason Statham is also a good actor for must watch male movies!

As a father, I absolutely love Liam Neeson in Taken. He exudes all of the power, confidence, determination and grit you want! Wasn't so keen on Taken 2 but that's a typical sequel trying to capitalise on the surprise success of the original.

Another couple that might not be obvious front runners are The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. But I put these forward because I have always got a much more intense message about the power of the human spirit, particularly as a guy, that girls seem to miss altogether. • To Be or Not To Be

Last post: Chad on 07.05.13 at 00:54 | Started by nzbear on 20.03.13

A question of fear. What waits beyond and what prevents us from finding out?
A challenge. Are we the best we can be and what are the consequences of pursuing that dream?
For me, personally, I am in the exact point in my life where this is a daily question I face. I have two key areas in life - employment and relationship - where I can choose to follow my dreams and my heart - with the promise of reaching the dreams I have long held... BUT, there are also risks - give up my secure income to create a venture that has no security at all; follow my heart and move from my family, my friends, all that I know to be with the woman who just may be the absolute love of my life.
To be or not to be - that is my question. More about To Be or Not To Be

  • What is or was the best TV series ever (and please don't mention DALLAS)

Last post: Chad on 21.03.13 at 12:46 | Started by H. on 18.03.13

As with everyone else I am a huge GOT fan. I have just finished reading A Feast Of Crows and am starting on A Dance With Dragons. The initial appeal for me, which still remains, is the raw beauty and brutality Martin writes with - not afraid to go outside the normal conventions in the battle between good and evil.
Aside from that, I have really enjoyed the first series of Banshee - awesome to see Antony Starr "making his mark" in Hollywood, and I get my weekly humour dose from a mixture of Mrs. Brown's Boys and Seven Days.
However, the series I most wanted to continue that never did is "Firefly". A rare treat for a fan of westerns and science fiction where it perfectly blended both.

Oh, and Dallas :) More about What is or was the best TV series ever (and please don't mention DALLAS)
