  But...
  I guess we all want to be in control of our lives... but sometimes, for better or for worse, we just can't be. We can sway the odds for good outcomes in our favour but in the end, we live never knowing what's around the corner. Maybe it's best just to appreciate the moment, always strive for the best outcomesbut acknowledge we are not little 'gods' and not sweat it when choas makes the final decisions!

• Memory loss as we get older

  I've been through years of my husband's relatives suffering from Alzheimers. Hubbie does everything the 'experts' say to stave it off - physical exercise, ginko pills, reduced stress, memory games (wretched iphone!) - which already makes life tougher than it needs to be. He's not an easy man at any time. However, without telling him, inside I'm terrified that he will end up the same as the older members of his family. If I am lucky and survive that long, I can see the last 15-20 years of my life devoted to having to look after him and I already know for those involved, it can be a prolonged stressful and unhappy time as to watch the slow deterioration brought about by Alzheimers.   It's the least any healthy person can do to give blood regularly and I'm all for it. It's doesn't take long, It's almost painless and can save someone's life. What a brilliant thing to do! Why wouldn't you? More about Blood Donations - do yo give!
