My best ever concert experience... scored free 'Gold' tickets to Red Hot Chilli Peppers gig at Western Springs about 2003??? Had dinner at Ponsonby Rd restaurant, drove to Top Gate of Western Springs, scored car park right outside gate, cruised in to stadium, ushered to 'Gold' area which was right at front of stage. Just as I got there Chillis came on stage, 'Gold' area only had about 100 people in it. The most amazing view..., amazing experience..., end of concert drove to bar down town...., smashed back couple pints of Becks!... totally awesome night....

I bought a couple of tickets to the Alice Cooper show at the Civic in Auckland when they first went on sale. When the time, there was a girl that I was kinda seeing, so invited her to go with me - she's big into rock. She said yes, then literally 3 hours before the show texted me to say she couldnt go because she was 'seeing' someone else... So I called up my bandmate, we went along and had an epic time. A few brews, a coupla shots, and then into Ponsonby for more drinks....where we saw Tracey (the girl) with the new guy, who was giving a bouncer sh1t and took an uppercut to the chin for it...hilarious!

I was a roadie, on tour with a heavy metal band called Breed 77. On the final night of the UK tour, I was dragged on stage to sing the final song with the lead singer, half way thru, I stage dived into a roaring mosh pit of angry freaks. Then the drummer fell off the stage and broke his ankle, so we couldn't go to Europe to continue the tour. It was the most amazing concert I've ever experienced....

I worked backstage for Dire Straits counting money (a few years ago now). They decided they didn't need to pay us for our work (the merchandise people, not the band). So we lost the takings for the night. It was a bit stressful for the. Then a scaffold worker offered to hit them with a hammer if they didnt pay up. Needless to say we were looked after in the end. And got to glimpse the band wandering past.
