Thor Blu-ray Giveaway

THOR a warrier God sent to Earth to live among humans. Sounds like a good blokes movie, murder, death, kill. A good movie to add to the collection, and in Bluray too!

It does. Good cast though. I'd watch it. I have been thinking about buying a BluRay player then remembered I should be able to play them with my xBox. Has anyone tried that? Do I also have to buy a remote? Or can I use the controller? I went to the Warehouse to pick one up to try and they had nothing that I wanted at all. Only one small stand of BluRay. Are they not selling? I thought they were going to stop producing DVDs, like, now.

Hmm, not too sure Fiona, I thought it was only the PS3 that allowed you to play BluRay discs. Could be wrong about that. If it doesn't, I'd wait until after the end of the month, you might just end up winning one!

Sorry Fiona- Jason is right. You need a PS3 to play BluRays, XBox360 is still stuck with a DvD player and that's not going to change anytime soon. BluRays still have a premium on the price so are quite expensive- as are the players but if you enjoy the HD then it's time to upgrade. Thor will be a great addition to someones BluRay collection- you will have to be very lucky to follow that up with a LG BluRay player- better odds than Lotto though.

Oh, well good that I didn't get one to try! Thanks. I keep meaning to try a DVD in the xBox but never seem to remember until the movie has started, and then I can't be bothered sitting through all the crap they insist on putting in front of the menu again. Thought it might play better as some DVDs seem to have the sound and picture slightly out of sync. I thought that might be to do with the lack of HDMI cable on the DVD/sound system? Or maybe I've wired it wrong... Could be, I don't have a lot of patience with that sort of thing, and once it's going... I don't generally do it again unless I move house, or someone steals my telly.

Its usually easier to get the setup right so when it goes wrong then basic troubleshooting protocols have to be enacted. Composite/component or HDMI cables- it shouldn't matter. The XBox will play a DvD as good as a standard DvD player. How come they didn't steal your DvD player.....a Transonic by any chance ?

Well, I think there was only two of them so they would have had their hands full with my 40 inch Bravia and my 15" MacBook Pro. The DVD player also has a large amount of speakers attached to it, but I can think of no other reason why they didn't take the xBox Kinect and games. Except perhaps that we disturbed them. That might also explain why they left jewelry spread around the house, including a bag of on the couch with a camera and various necklaces and stuff. I can't pretend to understand petty criminals, I just dislike them. Esp the ones that cost me money, and then try to sell all my stuff for $250. (The cop told me this a few weeks later. Don't know if they apprehended them though. Guess they didn't get my stuff back)

Oh, and the DVD player is Panasonic. Probably not worth the $10 they would have sold it for.

Not seen this yet, but looks pretty good.

CGI/epic movies lend temselves perfectly to the BluRay format and should be complemented with an HD TV and surround sound system- Thor will be a good score for someone.

Yeah it won't work in an xbox, it definitely works in a PS3, the movies okay thought it would be better with Natalie Portman in it though, but some scenes are really good, and it would be a win for some lucky person

Mmmmmm Natalie Portman....

I had my eyes on her first1

Looks to be an entertaining movie!
