Communication is the big one and spending time with each other, making sure the other person doesn't feel left out if you go out without them. And if you disagree, make sure to clear it up asap and not let it get worse and worse, just talk it out, hug and makeup. Just enjoy each other :)

Me and my girlfriend have been together almost 4 years and often fight over little things that might seem big at the time. I agree with Kristy because communication is so important in getting over these small issues. Because without clearing them up I think they would grow into huge problems and I wouldn't be in the happy relationship I am today. :D

I have been prone to fall into the opposites attract trap. Initially it is interesting but you really need to have common beliefs and interests in order to build the foundation for a happy and loving long term friendship/relationship.

Don't be too much of pleaser. I have done it, and you may not notice it but your friends sure will. You will always be doing everything she asks, and it's a bad thing to get into, as it's hard to get out of. I know from experience, and lets just say, I would never date anyone like that again. There has to be an even balance of what you do for each other
