I read somewhere that soaking your meat briefly in Coke can soften and tenderise it as the acid in the Coke breaks it down a tad. So I decided to give the lamb a bit of a soak before washing it and marinating it. So here we go. Coke Marinated Lamb

Coke also works really well as a sweet sticky coating for chicken. I like to precook chicken nibbles in coke, garlic and a bit of worcestershire sauce in the oven or slow cooker in preparation for a bbq. Pull them out of the fridge, heat them through on the barbie and get people to try and guess what the perculiar, yet familiar flavour is.
