Discussing :: Salad over cooked veges

Easy....salad in Summer and cooked veges in the winter...best of both worlds!

Eat healthy sure, but just remember your ancestors didn’t fight their way to the top of the food chain so you could become a vegetarian.

Like salad in sandwiches and rolls but not by itself, prefer vegies overall.

Love both equally. Salads are great at a BBQ but has to be cooked veges with a Roast.

A good salad over cooked veges any day, so much more flavour with the variety of ingredients you can add. You can even have a roast vege salad!!

Salads take a lot of pressure off cooking in the kitchen and can be varied significantly to keep them interesting.Use nuts sprouts and a tasty zesty dressing.

I prefer carrots uncooked with a salad. Cooked carrots are too sweet but can be nice in a winter soup.

I find salads tricky in winter without the usual tomatoes, cucumbers, capsicums and such being in season but we had a great one the other night with baby spinach, cooked beetroot, sliced oranges, feta with a citrus dressing. Using all the seasonal veges and fruit is a great idea.

I love both salad and hot vegetables...but it is so cold now and I have a dose of the flu...so hot veges is my choice. Save the salad for the warmer months...:) x
