Discussing :: Old age, how will we ever cope?

#31

Getting old can't be all bad as turning 65 means no more calls from insurance salesmen. Oh, you can sing and brush your teeth at the same time.

Hehehe... Old age will come whether we like it or not, unless you die young... but what the fuzz for... what we should do is ENJOY the JOURNEY of LIFE... we have ONE LIFE to LIVE, and when we get old, we will have lots and lots of memories to think back whether good or bads, and will surely make us SMILE... Cheers!!!

I won't cope, refuse to believe I will get old :)

Ha ha lol Like they say it is only a number...so who really cares and when you gotta go,you gotta go! Just more wrinkles and grey hairs...the body starting to drop in the south direction too...:)

“People have told me 'Betty, Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with old friends...' .. At my age, if I wanted to keep in touch with old friends, I'd need a Ouija board” ― Betty White.

She can't play rugby, but if she can cope with old age then we can!

There must be a good side to reaching your 90’s, there will be very little peer pressure. The downside is your memory's not as sharp as it used to be, also your memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
Don’t be concerned if you may start making the same noises as your coffee machine when you sleep or your skin starts to sag (you could keep eating till the wrinkles fill out), this is normal. Most of all don't stop laughing because you grow old, you grow old when you stop laughing.

The worst thing about living to an old age is probably the fact that you've outlived most of your friends...

Yes, being over 50 does have its advantages...

Kidnappers are not very interested in you.
In a hostage situation you are likely to be released first.
No one expects you to run into a burning building.
People call at 9 p.m. and ask, "Did I wake you?"
People no longer view you as a hypochondriac.
There's nothing left to learn the hard way.
Things you buy now won't wear out.
You can eat dinner at 4 p.m.
You can live without sex (but not without glasses).
You enjoy hearing about other people's operations.
You get into a heated argument about pension plans.
You have a party and the neighbours don't even realize it.
You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge.
You quit trying to hold your stomach in, no matter who walks into the room.
You sing along with the elevator music.
Your eyes won't get much worse.
Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.
Your joints are more accurate meteorologists than the National Weather Service.
Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can't remember them either.
Your supply of brain cells is finally down to a manageable size.
You can't remember who sent you this.
