Enjoy your food but eat less

Eat three meals a day starting with breakfast

Make half your dinner plate colourful vegetables

Have water (or even tea/coffee/diet drinks) instead of fizzy, cordial or fruit juice

Have fruit instead of cakes, biscuits, pastries and packet snacks


Avoid spending too much time in the kitchen or dining room. Do not use these rooms for activities other than eating. When you do something in your kitchen or dining room, you might be tempted to eat because you think of this room as a place where you can eat.


Simple tips, but often forgotten.


Do it while you can. If you delay it, you'll regret it.


You know core muscles are very important, as they connect the upper and lower body; they’re essential for the coordinated movement of the whole body. Strengthening the core muscles can make you more fit for all kinds of activity.


Always have someone who is motivated to achieve similar goals to you.
Having a friend to motivate you is a big consideration when thinking about lifestyle and exercise. It's far too easy to postpone exercise or just get into poor routines from the get-go but if you have someone with you that has similar goals you have a much better chance of achieving your goals!


Parents control the supply lines. You decide which foods to buy and when to serve your dear kid in this kiwi summer.

Though kids will pester their parents for less nutritious foods, adults should be in charge when deciding which foods are regularly stocked in the house. Kids won't go hungry. They'll eat what's available in the cupboard and fridge at home. If their favorite snack isn't all that nutritious, you can still buy it once in a while so they don't feel deprived.


good advice. the most active senior citizens i know are the ones who do charity work and look after or visit others - they are a lot healthier than those that have 'given up'. just keep going!


Live in the moment. Each minute is one that you will never get back so enjoy it. Appreciate the little things, they can give you the most joy. Charity work or helping others is very rewarding. It is nice to feel good about yourself.
