Summer almost here shaping up tips needed quick

I have been doing a few situps 50 a day for the past 3 months but cant seem to get rid of those nasty love handles .Any tips guys for flat washboard

Except of course that running just ruins your joints. Swimming would be my pick for getting in shape for summer, and after todays stunning weather, I'm off to the pools!!


I agree with Jason swimming is definitely up there, my partner said he does a lot of twist and crunch sit ups and lying on his back doing leg raises, lifting his hips of the ground using extra weights for resistance (in his words) at least twice a day


Sit-ups are a bad way to work your core as all it does is compress the muscles and doesn't target areas like the love handles. A good way to trim the area around the waist is to do running or sporting exercises that require balance and sudden changes in direction. This keeps the core active while building strength and helping with loosing a few pounds. Also key to this is eating right. You will be very hard pressed so see major results unless you change your eating habits. Simple things like having lots of protein for breakfast. This keeps you fuller for longer and provides the building blocks for muscle growth and repair. An exercise that targets you sides is like a sit-up where you lift your shoulder blades off the floor then move from side to side touching your heels. This not only works the core but the obliques too.

eat less food specially sugary processed ones and drink less alcohol much like every bit of advice you can find on the net or from a trainer if you have abs but is fat over the top then you wont see them

Just doing sit ups isn't going to get you very far buddy. Sit ups only work one section of your abs, you need to work everything (top bottom and sides) for that sculpted half doz. Check out 7min abs on youtube, there's about 7 exercises to do each day for approx 45 seconds each. Not only that but you can't go doing a workout and then gobbling up a super-sized Mac Attack. Body is a temple and all that..

My son is 13 and he says hes not fat because he plays so much PS3- so to each his own- Resistance (3) therapy is the way to go- good for the fingers and brain- but then again he's not exactly fit either.....oh and he does do at least 3 stand ups per day...good for quads and calves.

wear clothes with vertical stripes- never horizontal stripes

Skinny dipping at water parks is not only fun, but encouraged!........ Wait, it's either that or strongly discouraged. Well, you won't find out if you don't try!


But don't forget those vertical stripes...
