Discussing :: HONEY'S : NO:'1' in Benefits

local honey can help with hay fever from pollen

For a child under twelve months of age, there is a risk of botulism from eating honey and it should be avoided. The spores of the Clostridium botulinum bacteria can be found in honey, and when ingested by an infant, the spores can release a toxin that causes botulism.

If your honey is really raw, it may start to solidify after a few months. Don’t worry if it does; the honey is still good to eat and my kids both think the solid, creamy honey is actually better on toast than the liquid. Because the honey is so thick, straining is slow and difficult, and you’ll likely have some pollen in truly raw honey.

Honey would have to be one of natures superfoods and tastes great too!

But not good for under 1's as it can contain botchalism spores... worth knowing!!

yes i,ve always thought honey has been underated

Yes, honey is fantastic but we need to look after our bee's here in NZ! Everyone should have a backyard beehive if they can..I plan to get one this year. Honey is great for keeping in the emergency box, it doesn't go off and is great for an energy boost and for putting on cuts and infections. What an amazing thing nature is when it can give us liquid gold like this!

everytime i see this post i think of honey boo boo child lol i need to start paying more attention.i heard with beehive bees are not aloud to mix with other hives or it can upset the whole process and ruin the hive.Also honey is one of the only products ma cannot make with the same nutrition.

After reading all this I had to eat some honey, which I have just done. Now to reap the benefits!

I agree, all this made me go and eat some honey- Manuka honey at that because my Mum insists on buying it for my family and drops a new pot off at regular intervals-she swears it's the best kind to eat.
