Discussing :: Home made museli

Yup, actually tried that for the first time a few weeks back. It's great to be able to customise it and put in all the things I love (and not anything that I don't!)

I've never been bothered to make my own muesli, although I do sometimes buy a fairly plain muesli, then add in chopped almonds, cranberries and other things in myself which I get from the bulk isle.

I like to have half muesli and half cornflakes with lots of ice cold milk!

I prefer to buy toasted muesli.....yum! And yes I know it is not good for you but great as a treat.

never tried making my own muesli, great idea though, but guess I'm just too lazy

I tried it a couple of times - great recipe with lots of grains and nuts - just added some dried fruit for sweetness. It was the 1 cup of sunflower oil that did my head in. I'll stick with the natural untoasted stuff from now on! Nice for a treat though.

I'd give a lot of raisted nuts, dried fruit a go mixed with roasted wheat

There are some pretty good home-grown muesli products available these days. My personal favourite is Cec's Muesli from the Hawke's Bay area.

It for me is the best, once one has made their own very hard to go back and buy some. It is so easy and lots of different goodies can be added depending on your choice, GREAT with fruit and yoghurt LOVE IT

I love muesli but have found it easier to lose fat when replacing it with a high protein low carbohydrate substitute.
