Discussing :: Euthanasia - how do you feel about it?

#21

I have witnessed the deaths of a number of elderly relatives. All were in terminally ill in hospital and dosed up with morphine. In all cases, the hospital staff asked family if we wanted to cease any aggressive treatment (anitbiotics, etc) and whether we wanted them to be given fluids intravenously as they were barely able to swallow. The decision was easy. Normally anyone will die without water for three days and this is exactly what happened in each of these cases. I am sure that if this seldom talked about procedure didn't happen every day, our hospitals would be full of elderly people simply vegetating, being kept alive with no quality of life and no future.
