Good stuff Ian, at least with the same trainer every time, he/she should have a rough plan in their mind for you.

As long as you've told them what your goal is, the program they give you should produce the results you want.

I will say this though - be sure to record your own weights, sets and reps. Writing it down gives you a bit more 'ownership' and improves your focus. Knowing that you did exactly 5 reps of back squats with 85kg April 2nd is a powerful motivator when you line up in the squat rack next time. More about Think Yourself Thin

Highly recommend this style of eating. I follow it myself with the exception of a small amount of dairy from yogurt and cheese. Never felt better since giving up grains. Energy, performance and strength are up and am leaner than ever. Start slow though, getting off 'the crack' i.e. grains is tough as they are the staple of our Western Diet.

    James,

Good stuff man! It's the old saying - one step at a time - but it's so very true. Be sure to tell your friends and family what you are doing, and how important it is to you. There's nothing worse than a mate thinking he's being a funny bugger by waving a drink or cigarette under your nose.

Best of luck, and drop me an email if you need any help. More about The 'Sort My S*** Out for Summer' Program

    Sam,
Sorry, but the intention of the article wasn't to give specific workout advice; but to highlight how often you can get bogged down in details at the expense of decent progress.

Drop me a line at darren@crossfitnz.co.nz if you need a hand setting up a training program.
