Rory Fallon, most definitely. Not only was his goal worthy of applause, but his reaction was also extremely entertaining. A huge champion in my books for helping the All Whites get to the Soccer World Cup finally!

  • Flying the Fern Flag

Last post: Ella on 14.03.11 at 01:45 | Started by Paul on 17.01.10

A silver fern is a much better representation of the country we are now, rather than the country we were when we were colonised by the United Kingdom all that time ago. We need something that identifies us as a united nation, and something that isn't naturally mistaken for the Australian flag. New Zealand became an independent nation long ago, and while the Union Jack is a part of our history, it isn't necessarily a part of our present, or even of our future. It's time to look forward, and I believe, to introduce this change so that we don't in fact look back and ask ourselves why we waited so long. More about Flying the Fern Flag

  • The MMP Review – trashing our democratic rights

Last post: Ella on 14.03.11 at 01:45 | Started by Ella on 21.01.10

I actually like the current MMP system, but even if people wanted it to change, I don't see how waiting till 2017 is really going to help people. By then, most people probably won't care as much as they do now, given it IS 2 elections away. Ugh, I hate how the government takes years to change anything and then question why there are so many people going around saying negative things about them and politicians in general. • Quality Commercials!

Although NZ has a few really good ones, I think overseas ones are a lot better. I also think that we are a bit behind when it comes to key adverts like drink driving ones - overseas, the adverts are really intense and do not understate anything - they show the dramatic results of what can happen with drunk drivers. New Zealand, however, does not - our ads have only just started to really have major impact on watchers, and I can think of a few times where adverts have not been allowed on New Zealand TV because they came across as being too horrific. I understand how certain ads should not be shown to kids, but that doesn't mean that these ads cannot be on at night time to try and get an important message across. More about Quality Commercials!

  • GetFrank's Exclusive Interview with Christoph Waltz

Last post: Ella on 14.03.11 at 01:45 | Started by Chad on 10.12.09

I love the way that Waltz responds in this interview - he comes across as very honest and straighforward, and he seems like a very good-natured, laid-back, grounded guy. I have yet to see Inglorious Basterds, but from what I can tell, it will be a very intense movie, that, although not straight fact, will likely be built up from truths already told. You can't expect any movie today to speak only of fact - that is the nature of movies - directors and writers can add or subtract or manipulate as they see fit.

I also like the way he speaks of Hollywood, for of course you can't label it or EXPECT anything from it. Also, it's Hollywood - not everything that comes from it is good. Hell, some things are not even REMOTELY good. That's just Hollywood - that's just the way it is and the way it will always be. More about GetFrank's Exclusive Interview with Christoph Waltz

  • Love Life, Not Stuff

Last post: Ella on 14.03.11 at 01:45 | Started by Karl on 14.12.09

It is almost becoming insane the amount of time we spend obsessing about mere products and possessions - especially things that we once lived without, but now believe our lives depend on. Technology, for example, is a major one - the majority of people would probably go insane if they were forced to live a week without technology, yet centuries ago, technology didn't exist. We are becoming to complacent with our habits for ignoring the most important things in life, such as family and friends... But at the same time, it's bound to never change, but only get worse. • How to wake up without an alarm clock

Last post: Ella on 14.03.11 at 01:45 | Started by Herbertimo on 29.05.09

I would love not to be able to wake up to an alarm clock, because I personally hate it and I often wish it would die an awful, nasty death (I've gotten so sick of the ringtones that I have that I feel pained hearing it). More about How to wake up without an alarm clock

Dandruff is so unappealing, and it's weird to find that it isn't caused by the sun necessarily, but by things like the type of shampoo you use :( Have got to add that the L'Oreal brand IS really good to keep your hair nice and healthy : More about Scalp dilemma
