  • Is Colin Slade the Back-up 1st Five for Daniel Carter?

Last post: Moose Mahon on 19.09.11 at 11:42 | Started by TTT on 19.09.11

Slade IS the back up for DC. He's in the squad. He's a specialist first five. By virtue of that, he is the back up. No point debating whether he should be there or not, or whether anyone else is a better option, because they are not there. Of course he's nowhere near where DC is at in terms of skill and experience. But what other first five in the world is? Nobody. DC is world class, and step above the rest, no matter who they are. So Colin Slade is a back-up...and just that...a BACK-UP. Hopefully DC will stay injury free and we won't have to rely on Slade to run the cutter in a major knockout game. But if he has to, then let's back him, support him, get in behind him, and have the confidence to know that he and the rest of the team as a unit will succeed and finally bring home Web Ellis to where it belongs... • Sick of the Moaners and Whingers? I am.

Anyone else sick and tired of the moaning and whinging about anything and everything to do with the World Cup?

You know who they are...we all have at least one friend or colleague who never has anything positive to say...it's usually the exact same moaners who go on and on and on about how Henry should never have been reappointed as coach....and how Hosea Gear should have been selected in the squad....and how Sonny Bill is overrated...and how the public transport was a disaster...and how the Dunedin Stadium should never have been built....and how Auckland gets all of the big games...

I'm no optimist. And I'm not a fanboy for Graham Henry or the Auckland Council or a cheerleader for the RWC organisers. But for god's sake, those people that are constantly whinging and never have anything good to say are starting to get on my t*ts!!!!! LIGHTEN UP and have some fun like the rest of us. Get into the spirit of the cup, enjoy the flavour, the party, the sights and sounds, the atmosphere and stop nitpicking....

  • Disappointed with the performance of the Pacific Island sides in the Rugby World Cup.

Last post: Moose Mahon on 19.09.11 at 11:27 | Started by TTT on 19.09.11

I don't think you can be too hard on the Pacific Island teams. Tonga put in a solid performance against a near full strength AB lineup on the opening night. Then they fell to Canada, but backing up only five days after such a rugged match surely didn;t help, they looked tired, which I;m sure theyw ere. The Canadians were fresh, well organised, and as they showed against France alst night...can't be underestimated. So no shame on Tonga, methinks. Samoa is possibly the strongest Pacific team and they fell to Wales, who only lost to SA by one point (and should have actually won that match). But the game against Wales was close, and although they didn't get teh win it was a very close match. Fiji has always been a team of surprises and flair, they romped home against Namibia and you could hardly expect tem to beat SA.

So it's a bit harsh to be disppointed by their performance so far. They have provided colour, flavour, flair and their only failing so far has been to get across the finish line against two top teams. DON'T WRITE THEM OFF YET!!!!!! LOVE THIS...reminds me of good times when I was 16 and working is a small pizza joint (that shall remain nameless ;))... we played "mushroom badminton" one night at about 2am...it was me versus the motorcycle delivery guy since we were the only ones there at that time of the morning....used two old badminton rackets we found in the basement....and mushrooms were the obvious choice just begging us to hit them across the store from one side of the counter to the other...

...and here's a tip for any other budding mushroom badminton players out there.....if you hit the mushrooms too hard, they get shredded and sprayed all over the walls and ceiling...(and all over the pizza oven extractor fan)....then get instantly baked on to the hot extractor fan...and when the boss comes in, you've gotta make sure you've cleaned off all of the evidence...unless there's some you can't reach at teh top of the extractor fan...in which case, you just hope the boss doesn't look up.... ;);)

GOOD TIMES!!!! More about Ping Pong is Better with Golf Clubs

  • What are ADIDAS thinking?

I reckon it's a classic case of "Head Office" syndrome...the big wigs that look at the balance sheets over in Adidas headquarters in Europe have no real feel for the depth of feeling about this in NZ....and it only took a couple of bad decisions to set the price and then stick to their guns to escalate and damage their brand and reputation MAJORLY.... • POLL: Which five outside backs should make the All Blacks RWC squad?

Last post: Moose Mahon on 15.08.11 at 13:26 | Started by Moose Mahon on 15.08.11

Most of the selections in the All Blacks RWC squad can probabaly be locked in....Richie...DC....big Brad Thorn...etc etc...

The most hotly contested spots are the likely 5 places available to cover the wings and fullback.

    So who will it be?

Wellingtonians will be plumping for Cory Jane and Hosea Gear...the selectors seem to LOVE Isaia Toeava....Sitiveni Sivivatu is the incumbent....Israel Dagg should be there, but will be fe fit enough and back to form?????....Mils is locked in...but what about Richard Kkahui...and does Zac Guildford provide more than just pace..???? Richard Kahui has had a bad run of injuries but provides options...and Ben Smith must be knocking on the door....

My five would be Muliana, Dagg, Guildford, Jane, Kahui...

My favourite seems to change over time...right now it's KK Malaysia on Manukau Rd in Epsom, Auckland....AMAZING Malaysian food...the heat of the beef rendang will kick your a$$ but in a good way, just like all good curries should...

The atmosphere and service is definitely NOT suave....which actually makes it feel even more authentic lol...and the food makes up for it.

Reasonable price...definitely recommend the beef rendang...and if your a vege or a lady then go for the KK Eggplant special...hate to admit it but it's pretty bloody good... More about Favourite Restaurants

  • Hammer Throw Fail

Last post: Moose Mahon on 16.03.11 at 01:49 | Started by Tahlia on 15.02.10

Hmmmmmmmm....let's examine the physics behind this....

Centrifugal force (from Latin centrum "center" and fugere "to flee") represents the effects of inertia that arise in connection with rotation and which are experienced as an outward force away from the center of rotation.

In other words, the Newtonian mechanical physics equation is:

    I + Hm + CF = P

IDIOT + HAMMER + CENTRIFUGAL FORCE = PAIN.

Simple physics really. More about Hammer Throw Fail
