Sat next to a fellow on a long haul flight recently, who was wearing a red velvet fez with a gold tassel. I thought I had landed the dummy having to sit next to him for fifteen hours and expected him to be a right idiotic pain. However, never judge a book by its cover. Turned out he was really a lovely man - funny, interesting and helpful.. I asked him about his hat and he just said he liked it and it would help his friend to find him at the destination airport! I have to say I admired his self-confidence and the ease he had about himself. I don't know about how men would view his hat, but by the end of the flight, I found it definitely added to his appeal - even if it was rather strange!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with using cochineal which is a very common red food colouring which has been around for centuries and is used extensively all over the world... What another media lot of hooha rubbish to try to make something out of nothing! More about Starbucks admits using dead insects in coffee

Not only seen it but felt it as breast fed both my babies till they were a year old! Something else new Dad's might not know. Nearly all babies develop a blister on their top and bottom lip in the centre from sucking so hard when their Mum's are breast feeding them. More about Teething in pictures

  • Man kills wife instead of Pig!!

While I was looking for a follow up on this (it happened in June 2011), I came across this bizzare story "Pig with two snouts eats twice as much as its brothers and sisters"
    http://www.metro.co.uk/weird/862742-pig-with-two-snouts-eats-twice-as-much

This little piggy was born with the deformity of having two functioning mouths.

Its owner, farmer Bai Xuejin said: 'We knew something was different because her head was so large we had to help when her mother gave birth.

'I've been raising pigs for 15 years and I've never seen anything like this before.'

The squealer could not suckle its mother because of its unique facial figure, so Mr Xuejin had to raise it by hand until it was old enough to eat solid food.

'Both mouths function normally and so she eats and drinks through both of them which means she gets through a lot more food than her brothers and sisters,' he added.

Mr Xuejin, from Zhangjia in the Jilin province, is planning on saving her from the chop and putting her on show at his farm because people are fascinated by her.

He said: 'She is too special to end up on a plate.'

  • DOG still with owner after Turangi attack

Last post: Wice on 20.04.12 at 13:57 | Started by Bells-n-Whistles on 20.04.12

I’m no dog lover but apparently the dog is a family pet and not a dangerous breed. The dog had a fright, was spooked and reacted by jumping up and biting the boy on his lip. Sometimes crap happens. The dog didn’t attack this child blindly out of nowhere for no reason. After all, even people jump or strike out if they get a fright. Apparently no charges have been laid but understandably, the owner is very distraught and has advised he will be putting the dog down. More about DOG still with owner after Turangi attack
