Planning to travel abroad? Leave these items at home! Anyone who travels regularly is aware of luggage and carry-on restrictions post 9-11. However, if you travel abroad, there are other considerations to keep in mind. No foreign country wants undesirable insects, rodents, or diseases to infiltrate their population via border crossings. What NOT to take with you Regulations vary by country. The snacks you pack for a domestic flight may not pass customs inspection for an overseas destination. Start with a... read full article

Great article - I wish I had these tips when I was 16 and trying to impress the girls with a "mixtape" made on the old twin cassette boom box

This is a beauty. The mixtape is an unsung art that has permeated our lives since time immortal and I'm so happy someone has finally given some advice on how to actually do it. I'm now reeling with sweet nostalgia of all the mixtapes I have been blessed to have received over the years. In fact, I'm going to go and make me one right now.

It doesn't always have to start and end with a bang. This soul, roots based mix CD begins flows and ends with quite different flavour. New Zealand music at its best- in my completely biased opinion. Check out my crafted NZ mix series on torrentz.com. Start here:

Mix tapes are great, and even though they have evolved to cd's and mps's the mix tape will always be something that we will hold close at some stage of our life. I made one for my partner with all his favourite songs and then did a recording at the end with message for him to listen to on his way up north. It can be such a romantic gesture because it has so much thought and time put into it. I know I will always love the one he made me. Even if it was put on cd.

Nice. Virtual DJ is good software for making a mixtape. The result can be as good as a mixed CD you could buy but with the bonus of having your own selection. Good for having a few different types on hand for road trips in the car etc, or you can just email it / share it on facebook or whatever. Amazing how the way we listen to and share music has evolved in this technological age!

You forgot Rule No.16. Bear in mind that your mixtape will probably be listened to by the receiver at best once, but more probably never, so it doesn't actually matter what you put on it, what order it's in or what the artwork is like. You're better off making them for yourself to listen to.
