Just had a new baby - can't get any sleep? The sound of a crying baby when it's not "your shift" can totally ruin getting any sleep. A few more radical solutions from the combined wisdom of dads around the world include: * taking sleepers (not recommended) * ear plugs (OK but can be quite painful to wear them for extended periods) * sleeping in a different room / house altogether (works but might be a hassle / uncomfortable) So I'd like to throw in a *NEW* solution - WHITE NOISE. Sleepless in bed

Might have to add this idea to the arsenal, sounds like it could be worth a try. Otherwise, get a sleep in while the baby is (wherever and whenever possible)..

I have taken up sleeping in the spare room to get some sleep with our new born screaming each night. I combine that with foam ear plugs. Next it will be ear muffs. When will it end . . . . . !!!

Haha, it does end eventually, believe me (we've had two). You just need to hang in there, if you have to move into the spare room just to get a bit of sleep then fair enough. Or invest in a caravan like we did, park it out on the front lawn.

I was lucky enough that my boy slept through the night within a few months. Huge amounts of beer helped me sleep. Made him pee a lot though....
