A win like this would be a blessing to our family.
We all know the old style TV is out and we will not be able to pick up a signal. Well this new TV would and it won't take me years to pay off if I won

Just signed up cos i love this site. Have done for a few months now. Thought I may as well enter the competitions but I just found out you have to be Kiwi!!
I'm an Irish born Aussie and I really don't want to have half my brain removed just to win something!
Is it OK if i just watch wot happens and congratulate the winners?

JasonMantis

An Irish born Aussie? Ouch.

Well, I might have to spend more time in the forums and try to win a TV since ours was stolen tonight. They hardly took anything except the TV. I wish they'd taken some of the crappy stuff so the insurance could pay for an upgrade. But no, just a TV, camera, a bit of jewelry, and an electric blanket. Odd.

Anthony

That sucks to hear! If I win the new TV (which I doubt), I'll see if I can swindle the old one and you can have it if you want. Technically belongs to the olds, but if they get a new one out of it, I'm sure they'd be willing!

Getting burgled sucks...

MonkeySay

Aw, that's so sweet!! I have insurance so I can replace it, just have to come up with the excess. I'm too scared to look up how much that is though... Worse than losing the TV is feeling like crap, and not wanting to go to sleep. Or leave the house until there are locks on the windows. And my kids being scared. But we have had a good laugh about what useless burglars whey were, and how we would totally have done a better job at robbing us.

Anthony

The best thing to do in these situations is find some form of funny side! I know how you feel, any crime against you leaves you feeling shaken. Got assaulted not to long ago and I was petrified, cause the idiot lived on my street. And my street is a tiny one...

MonkeySay

Wow. I'd probably move if that happened. I'm tempted to move now. If it wasn't such a hassle to pack up our lives I probably would right away. THe rental company finally put in a security light (I've been asking for one for 18 months since someone tried to break in last time) and they are putting locks on the windows tomorrow. Also hoping the landlord brings the alarm system he's been talking about, for 18 months. I know being worried isn't going to make us, or our stuff, safer, so I'm trying to do as much as I can, and pay my insurance, and move on.

One of the worst things I had stolen from me was a camera, back before we all had digital cameras. All those photos I wont ever get back.

MonkeySay

At least it was before digital so it was only one film. Now you could have months of photos on your camera before you download them. Bizarrely I had my digital camera and my computer with me last night. They almost took one of my old cameras, and then left it on the couch with a bag of jewelry. Kinda wish they had. Found a few more little things they did take, my Baby G watch, my irreplaceable Snoopy watch. Met some more nice policemen today though, kinda wanted to cast a few of them in my next movie. As good guys.

What no good cop bad cop?

MonkeySay

Not really. I was a little disappointed they didn't live up to the movie stereotypes we see in American movies. Generally it seemed to be middle aged cop/younger cop combos. We had 'dragged off behind a dog never to be seen again' cop, 'sweet laughed at my jokes' cop, 'shy almost giggling' cop, and 'mr. chatty giving advice like a protective father' cop. Not at ALL like in the movies.

shiny

lucky girl you had the attention of four of our finest!

last time i needed the boys in blue i had a 'should have been an AB he was so buff' cop and the other was a 'in a hurry to end my shift or get dinner' cop.
in saying that, they were both on to it and i was impressed by their professionalism.
