Fashion and trends are continually changing, so l guess l will see the day when "tucking in your shirt" is back in fashion. Don’t forget the Bell Bottom Jeans came back, mmmmm!

I think whatever you are comfortable with. I think we try to fit in but we need to be ourselves. I think both look good so decide on the day!!

I've had to untuck all the time as my beer pot stops me from tucking my shirt in!

Untuck if you want to look like Oasis! or if you are wearing a sports team jersey!

I think a shirt looks good tucked in for casual wear as long as you have a relatively flat stomach. Formal wear is easier because you normally have a jacket or at least a tie to cover your pot belly. Untucked looks great for casual for all body types.

Even if I start out tucked in, I always end up untucked

Casual shirts with jeans look best un-tucked, tucked in looks to very formal unless your job or occasion requires it. wearing a jacket helps hide the tuck anyway.
Unsightly trouser and waist bulges, Hard to hide the one in front at the best of times.

ALWAYS HAVE THE SHIRT OUT, UNLESS IT IS A REALLY FORMAL OCCASSION, AS IT IS SMART AND MAKES YOU LOOK COMFORTABLE BUT STYLY AT THE SAME TIME. mAKE SURE THE SHIRT HAS A GOOD TAIL THOUGH AND DOESNT LOOK LIKE YOU ARE JUST LAZY AND SCRUFFY.

Yep - I agree with most here, though I do think there are some formal occasions where to untuck is suitable. Not uber-formal, and it has to be done right.

But I think it's hideously wrong to tuck in informal situations.

Unless you're old. In which case you're probably forgiven, but still unfashionable.

I am slowly coming to terms with tucking my shirt in at work. Although being one who is also rather ample in the tum my of late, it’s getting tough. I used to always have my shirt out in any situation – even at my mother’s wedding! Though I’m getting used to a more formal tuck in now. It’s usually out as soon as I leave the office however.

for a casual look I'd choose not to tuck but for a tidier look it must be tucked !
