Discussing :: Weddings overseas - a selfish choice?

Sometimes I feel like we share WAAY too much anyway. What with social media and everything, can't it be a special time for just a few?

I wish I'd done this. We stayed at an all inclusive resort in Jamaica for our third anniversary and they did weddings, took care of everything except the brides gown, I think, and I wished we'd gotten married there. It would have removed all the stress completely. We wouldn't have had a lot of people there, but actually we didn't anyway because our families lived a continent away. I know a lot of people who got married in Vegas, and (almost) all thought it was a good idea.

It is only selfish if the couple elope and tell noone. If they send out invitations and airline tickets to a romantc island that is fine. Where is my invite?

I think its a lovely choice for a wedding. It is up to the bride and groom as it's their special day and they should put their own wishes first.

A wedding overseas avoids a lot of stress - especially if the couple arranges everything and pays guests travel.
