How’s the tour going so far?

Better than expected, we have had great houses and we are mercilessly mocking each other off stage. It is pretty much all you can ask for in a tour. Plus I got to go to Timaru.  

Why are you avoiding the big cities?

Because they get all the shows, like Pirates of Pensance, Whale Rider The Musical and Busting Out. We wanted to take a top quality show to the regional centres where not a lot of shows go. It is paying off  

Where has the best audience been so far?

Palmerston North, we had just shy of 1000 people and they were really into it. 

Where are your biggest fans, do they ever mob you?

We have an after party after each gig where people can get 2 for 1 drinks. They do a small amount of mobbing. Mostly they just point out how short I am. 

Do you have new material for each show or do you tailor it?

We all have our sets but the best thing about Stand Up Comedy is it changes every night. Depending on what has happened during the day the set may be tailored to the town. 

Where do you get your inspiration?

From anywhere. It could be an interaction with a homeless person or it could be watching a 7 year old operate a forklift. You never know where your next gag is going to come from. 

Who makes you laugh?

All the boys on this tour. Also Justine Smith and Urzilla Carlson. Overseas, Zach Gallifinakas and Will Ferrell. 

What’s the funniest place in NZ and why?

Nelson. Because they are adimant they are the centre of NZ and have even put up a little shrine to say so.  

What’s your favourite CC drink?

CC and dry in a tumbler full of ice and a segment of lime. 

Do you have a few before or after the show?

Usually after but occasionally a cheeky before.
