apparently wedges of lemon were used in coronas sol and other south american beers to stop flies entering the beer bottle. It was adopted by american frat boys coming home from Cancun and has become part of pop culture.

Water in whisky is recommended to 'open up' and reduce the alcohol level to approx 40% or below. It creates an isothermic reaction within the whisky releasing different esters.
  • I've heard many different things about why lemons and limes are used. However, in Mexico I don't ever remember seeing a lemon in a beer but there was a lime in every single one.

Mexican's love lime and put them in everything, they come sliced with meals for squeezing over a fine dish and they come in the neck of a glass coke bottle.

So I'm guessing that lime is put into Corona & Sol for the same reason that it's put into everything else, cause it tastes good.

Ok, so apparently most of you are either Women or still in transition....Also have any of you ever heard of the Perfect Gentlemen Martini? NO...? Look it up. Secondly certain beers use the acid in the fruit to bring out very particular flavors of beers, a good example being, Belgian Whites. Most of them are made with fruit and are unfiltered. The acid works particularly well with the unfiltered beer. You should on no circumstances put a lime in a Corona, further more dont even drink Corona because its for women and frat boys who dont know any better.

Also if any of you think that Budweiser, Stella, Miller anything, or even Coors are real beers that's because you have not had a real beer.

Please take of your skirts and MAN up to the bar. Get yourself a shot of Jack and a Sam Adams and tell me if you don't see noticeably larger balls between your legs in the morning and that someone stole all your purses. Yeah it was Chuck Norris and he knows your becoming a Man, so he incinerated them with a lighter and a fart, while funneling a scorpion bowl.

I totally agree with this article. Being a vintage style bartender, I realize that candy colored drinks are not real cocktails at all. One of my favorite sayings comes from Teg Haigh AKA Dr.Cocktail. "Learn to savor the spirits of rum, gin, brandy, whiskey and the entire spectrum of deeply flavored drink constituents. Vodka cocktails will never teach you anything."
