More about Stupid Nanny State Continues

  • Great Law. No more getting cutoff by an arsehole talking dinner plans to his wife. Distraction and Road Safety don't go together.
  • Anthony Mitchell says
It's ridiculous that New Zealand has to act as though its people are a bunch of complete bone-heads who will crash their car cause a voice is telling them where to go! It is completetly right in the article about the map book being acceptable, but a hands-free device not... You have to wonder who's running the country? JK, or some Labor pupeteer from behind the scenes... maybe not, but might aswell be.
  • Gyzmo says
About bloody time that this new law comes into place, way overdue. Handsfree should have been mandatory years ago. Being from Europe we're used to it, it's second nature to have a handsfree kit, especially since it's only a fraction of the cost of the car (not to mention a fraction of the ongoing costs of an accident).
  • DAMO says
☆★ Hi guys, great idea! ★☆

♪Makes the roads that extra bit safer, teaching kids the importance of road awareness!

♪And as a bonus, helps shops like Dick Smith with a bit more reveue as more people will start purchasing blue tooth headsets I guess!

♡ Win Win situation for everybody ♡
  • I will admit I crashed my car recently because I was text my mate. Bloody road sign jumped in front of me, honest officer!!!
  • David Willis says
Kiwis cant drive anyway. A navigation device thats directs motorists left will need to be programmed to tell them to wait for motorists turning right. Only in NZ
  • talking on cellphones while driving should definitely be banned, but parts of this law are just stupid!
  • I have been rear ended by a texter, no one likes to to rammed in the rear, your phone calls arent that important. if they were then you should have a chaffeur!
