Avoiding hangovers

Jennifer Marie Jordan Jennifer Marie Jordan has a vast knowledge of wine etiquette, and writes articles on everything from how to hold a glass of wine to how to hold your hair back after too many glasses.
We've all been there. Those times in our lives when we swear that alcohol will never again touch our lips. These instances usually happen in the early mornings, with the cracks from the bathroom linoleum digging into our knees and our contact lenses glued

More about Avoiding hangovers

  • Prevention is best. Enjoy your one drink and let the others look for hangover remedies. :)
  • The casual pie from the closest service station
  • Dont drink alcohol.....prevents the hangover big time!

well my way of preventing a hangover is to wake up at 7am and continue drinking, by 12 o'clock you'll be fit enough to run a marathon or two

or failing that the blue powerade from the local servo and a steak and cheese pie does the trick

  • Eat a tomato, skull some water, vomit, repeat.
  • 1. The best cure to a hangover is not to get one in the first place!
Stick to vodka and gin - they're pureer alcohols and don't have those byproducts (what ever they're called) that things like scotch and red wine do which give you nasty hangovers.

    2. If you do get a hangover you can try my dad's hangover cure.
Pour about 150 ml of cold coffee into a large glass. Add a generous knob of softened butter. Add a dash of milk. Crack in 2 raw eggs. Stir with a fork. Drink concoction.

Now you know why I recommend not getting a hangover in the first place - I can't imagine feeling awful enough to want to drink that concoction!
  • Diet coke and twisties - works wonders.
  • Since it says "avoiding" hangovers the obvious one is don't drink.

Otherwise for me I stick to drinking micro brewed beers or GOOD whiskey (Irish, like Bushmills).

Or stay awake till you are almost sober and keep drinking water.
  • Lots of V drink (more than the can says is safe) works well (I normally flavour mine with Whiskey if I choose this option, only time i put anything (other than a chicks nipple) in my whiskey.
